CHARITIES across Somerset are being invited to nominate themselves this month (October 2020) to receive a free Christmas tree this coming festive season from a plantation in the county.
Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm grows its own Christmas trees and is calling for charities to get in touch if they are in need of a tree this year as they have a 100 to giveaway to worthy causes.
Nick Hendy from Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm, which is based at Middle Hill Farm in Langford Budville, said: “Each year we donate three large Christmas trees to the Taunton, Wiveliscombe and Wellington town centres and this year we wanted to do even more and spread our Christmas spirit further.
“Last year (2019) we donated Christmas trees to worthy causes in Somerset and it was such a huge success, that we wanted to do it again this year. We will have 100 Nordmann Fir Christmas trees available to donate to charities in Somerset. We are asking each charity who would like a tree to email us via info@langfordlakes.co.uk and explain in no more than 100 words why they would like one of our trees. The deadline for entries is midnight on Friday, November 13, 2020 and entries are on a first come, first served basis.
“We will then reply to the successful charities and they will be able to come and collect their Christmas tree from our farm in Langford Budville in late November/early December at a mutually agreeable time.”
Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm, which is well-known for its home grown, freshly cut Christmas trees, is a family run 40-acre farm that is located close to the nature reserve Langford Heathfield, a mile outside of Langford Budville in Somerset.
It is a family-run farm, owned and run by Reg and his wife Ann and their two sons and daughters-in-law, Shaun, Trudy, Nick and Clare. The family has been growing and selling Christmas trees for more than 20 years.
