Workshops

A LEADING UK learning and development consultancy says its workshops are helping leaders and managers who want to support the wellbeing and resilience of their teams during the current climate (November 2020).

Adaptis Limited recently hosted a series of workshops for the Big Yellow Self Storage leaders and managers team.

Sara Burks, Managing Director of Adaptis, said: “Following localised action across the UK and the Government’s latest announcement, the challenges to everyone’s mental health and resilience caused by the pandemic will once again be at the forefront of our minds.

“Leaders and managers will be acutely aware of the wellbeing of their team members and colleagues during the next few weeks and months. Putting employee wellbeing at the heart of an organisation’s culture has wide ranging benefits not only to individuals but also to the success of the organisation as a whole.

“Sometimes wellbeing initiatives fall short of their intended aims because they are one-off actions that run alongside day-to-day business. At Big Yellow there is a recognition, from the CEO down, that a healthy organisation has the wellbeing of its people integrated fully into its strategy, culture and leadership of people.

“At Adaptis we look at both focusing on raising workplace self-esteem, which in turn tends to lead to higher levels of resilience and productivity, as well as supporting managers in having compassionate conversations when things go wrong.”

Big Yellow Self Storage was founded in 1998 and provides secure and modern storage for homes and businesses from more than 100 locations around the UK.

Cheryl Hathaway, Head of People and Development at Big Yellow Self Storage, said: “We are fully committed to a holistic approach to wellbeing and have invested in developing a team of Mental Health Champions, who are all trained as mental health first-aiders. They are there to support anyone in Big Yellow who needs it.

“With the assistance from Adaptis we have delivered a series of wellbeing workshops and a leadership development programme that has helped our managers see where they too can contribute to create the culture of good health that all of us at Big Yellow value so highly.”

Adaptis turns the latest thinking in behavioural psychology into practical solutions that deliver real observable behavioural changes and results within businesses.

The company includes consultants, coaches and facilitators from two distinct backgrounds: psychology and leadership.

Businesses who wish to support their staff wellbeing further during the current crisis, can book a workshop with the experts at Adaptis by contacting georgia.spiteri@adaptis.co.uk.
