RUMWELL Farm Shop Butcher Andrew Hyman from Hemyock is celebrating after passing his Apprenticeship in Advanced Butchery and gaining a distinction (May 2025).
Andrew has also been awarded the title of Employee of the Month at the award-winning Farm Shop on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington.
Terry Tarrant, Rumwell Farm Shop’s Butchery Manager, says: “We’d like to congratulate Andrew on passing his Advanced Butchery Apprenticeship with flying colours!
“He is a superb team member and is always keen to learn and develop. We’re very proud of all he has achieved since joining us. We have also presented him with the title of Employee of the Month in recognition of his wonderful attitude and the dedication he shows to his role.”
The 21-year-old started working for Rumwell Farm Shop in 2020 and was presented with his initial Apprenticeship in our Butchery in 2022.
Andrew explains: “I was so delighted with achieving my first qualification and to now have received my Advanced Butchery Apprenticeship with a distinction, and to be named as Rumwell Farm Shop’s Employee of the Month, is just brilliant.
“I originally began training as an accountant. Then Covid struck and I had a career rethink. I started working at Rumwell Farm Shop in the Butchery department, which I really enjoyed, so, I decided to start an apprenticeship in the profession.
“My colleagues have encouraged me throughout my training and have shared with me their incredible knowledge of the meat trade, which has been invaluable. I couldn’t have done it without them and the support of the wider team at the Farm Shop too.”
