ATTENDEES at a James Bond-themed event helped raised £2,300 for a Southampton charity helping vulnerable and lonely individuals in the city (September 2022).
The event was organised by We Love Your Office at the Lysses Hotel in Fareham in aid of Communicare and included a three-course meal, entertainment, raffle and silent auction.
Patrick McShee, Managing Director at We Love Your Office, said: “We have held two major events for various charities in the past and this time we decided to host one in aid of Communicare, which is the adopted charity of our business network group.
“The event was a huge success, with a Bond look-a-like, a casino, dinner with entertainment as well as a raffle and silent auction. We’re thrilled at the amount raised on the night and know it will go a long way towards helping Communicare with the work that it does.”
We Love Your Office and Communicare are members of the BNI Liberty Southampton, which is a non-for-profit Southampton business networking organisation which meets weekly.
Communicare, which is a friendly, neighbourhood charity, provides services that enrich the lives of lonely and isolated people in and around Southampton.
Its services are staffed by its devoted volunteers, known as Communiteers, who give their time freely.
Annie Clewlow, Manager at Communicare, which helps vulnerable and isolated people in Southampton, said: “We are extremely grateful to Patrick and We Love Your Office for hosting the event for us and any amount raised really helps us provide much needed services for the lonely and isolated people in the city.”
Communicare is currently supporting around 600 individuals/families through tasks including one-to-one telephone befriending and transport for essential appointments and assistance with shopping.
The services Communicare provides are free to users, although beneficiaries are invited to make a donation if they are able to, and Communiteers are offered expenses.
