TWO OF Father Christmas’s elves made an early visit to Somerset last Saturday to help officially launch and welcome visitors to a new festive shopping experience at Rumwell Farm Shop (October 10, 2026).
The Christmas Shop, a first for the award-winning family enterprise, which is located on the A38 between Wellington and Taunton, is dedicated to decorations, festive ideas and gift inspiration.
Lucy White, Shop Manager at Rumwell Farm Shop, says: “We were delighted to officially open our brand-new Christmas Shop last Saturday and to have the elves pop in to sprinkle a bit of magic across the proceedings.
“This project has been 12 months in the making and we’re now incredibly proud to share it with everyone. We’ve been covered in glitter for weeks putting it all together and it was fantastic to welcome visitors through the doors for the very first time at the weekend and to see their faces light up.”
The Christmas Shop was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Father Christmas’ elves, who will be back in December to help him in his cosy cabin grotto.
Lucy adds: “The area is full of beautiful decorations, festive home accessories and unique gift ideas, offering plenty of inspiration for Christmas. We’ve had a fantastic response already, lots of positive comments and reactions, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying our new space.”
As the first dedicated Christmas Shop at the Farm Shop, the new addition represents an important milestone for the destination and further expands its seasonal offering for visitors.
Anne Mitchell, Partner at Rumwell Farm Shop, says: “The project was brought to life by Lucy, who loves Christmas and does an amazing job all-year-round, but steps up every festive season to ensure our Shop looks fabulous. We’re also indebted to our wonderful Shop Team, whose creativity, hard work and attention to detail helped transform this new area into a wonderful festive showcase packed with inspiration for all ages.
“Visitors can now browse a dedicated area just off the main Farm Shop, which is full of sparkling ornaments, seasonal home accessories and carefully selected gifts, all designed to help create memorable moments with family and friends this Christmas.”
