SOMERSET folk who wish to dress their front doors with a handmade fresh autumn wreath can learn how to make one at an award-winning Farm Shop this month (October 2021).
Rumwell Farm Shop, which is located on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, is running an expert-led autumn wreath workshop on October 27 from 3.30pm until 5.30pm.
Anne Mitchell, Joint Owner of the Farm Shop, says: “People who come along to the workshop, run by experienced florist, Liz Robertson from our Rumwell Flower Shed and assisted by Aizel Finch, who runs our Flower Shed, will learn all they need to know about making a luxurious, natural, autumnal door wreath.
“The Flower Shed team will provide a combination of foliage grown nearby at Aizel’s Yalham Hayes Farm on the Blackdown Hills and natural decorations like berries, which have been responsibly foraged nearby, for people to use. They will teach those who book in how to create something beautiful using a step-by-step process.
“Attendees will also be able to personalise their designs to their own tastes and take their finished wreath home with them to display with pride on their front door during the autumn season.
“We will provide all the materials and equipment needed and, to make the event even more special, we will be serving tea and a selection of our delicious cakes. The workshop looks set to be both fun and informative and I hope people sign up and come along.”
The Flower Shed team will be teaching the autumnal wreath making workshop on Wednesday, October 27 in Rumwell’s Café from 3.30pm until 5.30pm.
The workshop costs £50 per person, including tea and cakes, and there are 12 places available. Anyone wishing to attend will need to book via the Farm Shop’s booking page here: https://bit.ly/3ao78kx.
Rumwell Farm Shop is an independent, family-run, award-winning business owned by the Mitchell family. It was originally a potato store, when David and Anne Mitchell began selling their potatoes and free-range eggs at the gate.
Due to customer demand, the product range soon increased, and the business grew. David and Anne’s sons, James and Jack, are now also involved, as well as their daughters-in-law, Sophie and Donna.
Rumwell Farm Shop has a traditional Butchery counter selling its home-reared and free-range pork and Rumwell Angus beef. There is also The Rumwell Flower Shed on-site, a Delicatessen, Bakery, Jam Kitchen, Food Hall, Wine Cellar and Gift Room.
Its own, home-grown potatoes are available, when in season, as well as everything from fruit, vegetables and groceries to plants, mostly British-grown cut flowers, gifts and cards.
The Rumwell Café is a large and spacious building. The food prepared in the Café kitchen is sourced from the Farm Shop, the Mitchell family farm, which is just four miles away, and other regional suppliers.
Families are welcome to the Café and there is a menu especially for children. It also serves afternoon teas, roast carvery Sunday lunches and is licensed to sell alcoholic beverages.
