QUIZ enthusiasts are being encouraged to sign up for Rumwell Farm Shop’s Charity Quiz & Supper Evening this month with proceeds going to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance (October 2025).
The Farm Shop, on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, has been fundraising for the charity throughout the year and is hosting an autumn Quiz & Supper Evening on October 24.
Partner at Rumwell Farm Shop, Sophie Mitchell, says: “If you’re a bit of a quiz buff or would simply like to have a great night out with friends and family, then please join us and test your brain power on Friday, October 24 from 7pm at our autumn quiz night. It promises to be a fun evening filled with lots of laughter.
“As well as the quiz, guests will have a fabulous, hearty two-course hot meal including either Hunter’s chicken or lasagne and the chance to choose from a selection of delicious homemade desserts. Other dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free can be catered for, please let us know when you book.
“Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is an amazing charity that saves lives daily. We are delighted to be supporting it this year through our quizzes and various other fundraising initiatives this year.
“We have one of the charity’s clothing banks onsite, so please come and drop off any unwanted clothing you may have, and we are donating proceeds from the sale of every box of our large own farm eggs to the charity, as well as from every bag of our homegrown potatoes. So, when you shop with us and buy eggs and potatoes you are supporting the charity too.”
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides lifesaving, pre-hospital critical care, to patients in need.
Its team of highly skilled pilots, critical care practitioners, nurses, and doctors are operational for 19 hours a day, 365 days a year; together they work tirelessly to save lives in Dorset and Somerset.
The service is 95% funded by charitable giving, including events like Rumwell Farm Shop’s Charity Quiz & Supper Evening. Annually, it can be tasked with attending nearly 3,000 incidents: with each mission costing approximately £3,500.
Charlotte Humber, Supporter Engagement Officer for Somerset from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, says: “It’s wonderful Rumwell Farm Shop selected us as their 2025 Charity of the Year. This partnership represents a great opportunity for us to raise invaluable funds while also generating awareness of the lifesaving work that we do.”
During the evening there will also be a fundraising raffle with a selection of great prizes from the multi-award-winning Farm Shop and from its suppliers and friends. All the money collected from the raffle will be donated to the charity.
Sophie adds: “Anyone keen to take part will need a maximum of eight people in their team. Once they are all organised, simply book up via our website. If you get the most answers right on the night, you’ll get to lift our much sought after and sparkly Rumwell Cup. The winning quiz team members will also each take home a £10 Rumwell voucher too.”
Tickets cost £23 per person for a two-course hot supper and include a £1 quiz entry fee. Tables must be booked in advance and online.
The Charity Quiz & Supper Evening in aid of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance will be held at Rumwell Farm Shop, which is in Rumwell between Taunton and Wellington, on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 7pm.
