FATHER Christmas will be arriving at a multi-award-winning Somerset farm shop by a mystery mode of transport to host his first 2025 grotto of the season in December (2025).
Santa will pull-up outside Rumwell Farm Shop at 9.30am on December 7 to meet children waiting to welcome him before taking up residence in his cosy cabin for the season.
Sophie Mitchell, Partner at the Farm Shop, located just off the M5 on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, says: “Father Christmas has let us know that he’ll be giving his reindeer a well-deserved rest on Sunday, December 7, making sure they’re full of energy and ready to fly around the world on Christmas Eve. That’s why he’s chosen to visit us using a surprise mode of transport – and we’re keeping it a secret until the big day!
“It’s going to be a magical moment. We know the children who come to see him arrive will be absolutely thrilled. The event is free to attend and we’d love to see a big crowd there to welcome him. While we wait, we’ll have festive music and Christmas carols playing outside for everyone to sing along to.
“It’s going to be a fantastic morning for the whole family. Once he’s here, Santa will spend time chatting with everyone and his friendly elves will be handing out sweets to the children.
“We’re really hoping lots of people turn out to greet Father Christmas and help us kick off the countdown to Christmas. If anyone wants to make ‘hello Santa’ banners or flags at home to bring along, they’re more than welcome to do so.
“Father Christmas’s arrival is completely free for anyone who’d like to come and watch. Our award-winning Café will be open as usual, serving breakfast and refreshments, and our shop will be open too for anyone wanting to browse or buy something festive.”
After his arrival, Father Christmas will be in his cosy cabin grotto from 10am-4pm. He’ll also be hosting grottos on Saturday, December 13, 9am-5pm and Sunday, December 14, 9am-4pm.
Sophie adds: “With the help of his trusty band of elves, he’ll wish everyone a merry Christmas and give each child a wrapped, age-appropriate gift to take home.
“Tickets cost £15.50 per child and can be purchased at www.rumwellfarmshop.com/father-christmas-cosy-cabin/. Booking is essential and must be made via our website and we can only allow a maximum of four children with an appropriate adult, or two.”
