A FARM shop in Somerset is officially launching its pre-Mother’s Day afternoon tea to coincide with International Women’s Day next week and to celebrate the important role that mums play (March 2022).
Booking for Rumwell Farm Shop’s pre-Mother’s Day afternoon tea on Saturday, March 26 is now open and staff say it provides a wonderful way to thank one of the most important women in all our lives.
Anne Mitchell, Joint Owner of the farm shop, located on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, explained: “To coincide with International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8, we will be officially launching our online booking to the wider general public for our pre-Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, so anyone who wants to treat their mum this Mother’s Day can do so by booking in.
“The Afternoon Tea will take place on Saturday, March 26 at 3pm and 3.30pm and those who book can choose from a selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones with tea or coffee, all served using our vintage crockery. You’ll also receive a free small gift for your mum too. Mums play such an important role in our lives on many levels and to be able to link with International Women’s Day, when the world celebrates the importance of women in society seemed very apt to us.”
Rumwell Farm Shop is an independent, family-run, award-winning business owned by the Mitchell family. It was originally a potato store, when David and Anne Mitchell began selling their potatoes and free-range eggs at the gate.
Due to customer demand, the range of products soon increased, and the farm shop grew into the place it is today. David and Anne’s sons, James and Jack, are now also involved in the business, as well as daughters-in-law Sophie and Donna.
Rumwell Farm Shop has a traditional Butchery counter selling its home-reared and free-range pork and Rumwell Angus beef. There is also The Rumwell Flower Shed on-site, a Delicatessen, Bakery, Jam Kitchen, Food Hall, Wine Cellar and Gift Room.
The Rumwell Café is a large and spacious building. The food prepared in the Café kitchen is sourced from the Farm Shop, the Mitchell family farm, which is just four miles away, and other regional suppliers.
Families are welcome to the Café and there is a menu especially for children. It also serves afternoon teas, roast carvery Sunday lunches and is licensed to sell alcoholic beverages.
The pre-Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea will take place on Saturday, March 26 at 3pm and 3.30pm.
Places are limited, so booking is essential and can be done at https://bit.ly/3h3aTzf. Afternoon tea for a minimum of two people costs £19.95 per person. A child’s (aged 10 and under only) tea price is £9.95.
